It started in June 2010, promoting destinations that offer walking, easy hiking and trekking possibilities (aside from promoting the usual cultural, historical and culinary attractions of the destination.) Its audience is mainly English-speaking.

As a prolific writer and journalist (worked for the BBC World Service in London and as a sports journalist for Eurosport based in Paris), Michael Schuermann has written the guide bookParis Movie Walks (for an American publisher), and actively contributes travel related articles to the Huffington Post Travel
